
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has given a new boost to the payment of extraordinary drought aid to nut producers. With this update, the amount executed stands at around 19,2 millones de euros, which represent 96% of the available budget and reach 16.423 producers.
The most recent resolution includes 34 farm owners with an aggregate disbursement of 114.043 Euros, a reinforcement that consolidates coverage for those most affected by the lack of water last year and expands the territorial scope of the measure.
New resolution and amounts

These grants are financed by the agricultural reserve of the European Union, as part of the exceptional support package for the agricultural sector. The objective is to cushion the impact of the drought on nut crops, especially rainfed ones, with a direct injection of liquidity to eligible farms.
The exact amount paid so far amounts to 19.187.866 Euros (almost 19,2 million) and is equivalent to 96% of the credit allocated to this line. The pace of execution allows coverage to the vast majority of applicants who meet the criteria, prioritizing the areas with the greatest losses due to lack of rainfall.
In the latest resolution, the 34 new beneficiaries They are located in five provinces: Murcia (25), AlmerÃa (6), and one holder in each of the provinces of Castellón, Tarragona, and Valencia. The distribution of the amount of 114.043 euros is as follows:
- Murcia: 81.610 euros (25 holders)
- AlmerÃa: 26.904 euros (6 holders)
- Tarragona: 4.036 euros (1 holder)
- Castellón: 1.286 euros (1 holder)
- Valencia: 207 euros (1 holder)
Beneficiaries and requirements

The aid is directed to producers of nuts from dry land from AlmerÃa, Alicante, Castellón, Murcia, Valencia and Tarragona, as well as irrigated hazelnut producers in the province of Tarragona, where the drought also left its mark last season.
Surfaces are included almond, walnut, chestnut, carob, hazelnut and pistachio, as well as combinations of these dryland crops. Among the conditions, it is essential to have been a beneficiary of direct aid from the PAC 2024, thus ensuring that payments go to active and registered farms.
The intensity of the aid is limited by two limits: it covers up to 70 hectares per owner and, below a certain threshold, amounts less than are not granted 200 EurosThis seeks to balance support between small and medium-sized farms, while simplifying administrative management.
Distribution by province and accumulated data

In the overall computation of the line, Murcia tops the list in terms of number of beneficiaries and amount: 4.386 beneficiaries and €7.131.249. It is followed, in terms of payment volume, by AlmerÃa (2.643 beneficiaries and €4.330.633), Valencia (€2.809 and €2.316.031), Tarragona (€3.132 and €2.483.429), Castellón (€2.427 and €1.947.039), and Alicante (€1.026 and €979.485).

In total, these figures add up to 16.423 holders and €19.187.866 allocated. For statistical purposes, each grant is allocated to the province where the beneficiary has the largest share of the eligible land area, which avoids duplication and provides a true picture of the territorial distribution.
The individual list of farmers, eligible hectares and amounts can be consulted on the notice board of the FEGA electronic headquarters, where official lists are updated as the case management progresses.
This support package, supported by European funds and implemented by MAPA, seeks to support producers of nuts more punished by the drought, providing immediate liquidity, clear requirements, and a transparent distribution by province to alleviate, as much as possible, the damage suffered during the last campaign.
