The Extremadura forest fire prevention device has decided extend the period of high danger until the 26th, in view of the unfavorable weather conditions: temperatures above normal and a lack of significant rainfall.
The resolution that formalizes this extension will be published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura during the week. The Board emphasizes that the operation of the Infoex Plan will remain active under the same conditions, with the entire squad turned out in surveillance and extinction, and that the measure is adopted with prudence and based on a detailed meteorological analysis.
Why the high danger period is being extended
According to the Extremadura delegation of Aemet, a scenario of temperatures higher than usual for these dates and no significant rain is expected before October 26. This forecast increases the risk of fire ignition and spread, which justifies maintaining the reinforced measures typical of the period of high danger.

This permit requires technical justification and can be requested through the associated electronic headquarters Arado – Laboreo.
Recent fires and operational balance
In recent days, Infoex has intervened in 17 forest fires which have affected approximately 18 hectares, pending official measurements. Twelve of the fires were located in the province of Badajoz and five in the province of Cáceres, with recent incidents in Serena Valley y Marchagaz.
This balance reinforces the need to maintain the intensive surveillance and the current conditions of the device, which continues to operate with all the equipment dedicated to early detection and extinction.
